About Us

Celebrating Excellence Awards

Every day, our 14,000 plus staff work tirelessly to provide extraordinary care for patients.

Whether it’s in our hospitals or the community, clinical areas or behind the scenes, their dedication, passion and spirit is what makes Newcastle Hospitals such a special place to be part of.

This year, we are launching our first Celebrating Excellence Awards, to recognise the outstanding work of our staff, volunteers and fundraisers

This is our opportunity to shine a spotlight on the teams and individuals who really demonstrate excellence and thanks to the generosity of sponsors, we’re planning a gala awards evening on Friday 21 June 2019.

Everyone working in the Trust should be able to be nominated for at least one category in this year’s inaugural awards and we’re also giving people the opportunity to recognise the huge contribution of our volunteers and fundraisers.

We’re now inviting staff, patients and visitors to tell us who you think has gone above and beyond their role to make a real difference. Join us in saying thank you.

Deadline for nominations is Friday 12 April 2019

The awards are open to all staff - those working behind the scenes, in support functions, non-clinical roles and clinical staff working on the frontline of our services - who contribute to providing outstanding care for our patients.

We also have specific awards for members of the public who have made significant contribution fundraising for the Newcastle Hospitals' charity, and also our volunteers who commit their time to enhance patient care and visitor experience.

Nominations can be made either for an outstanding individual or for a team who has made a special contribution. Teams can self-nominate but must have the endorsement of their line manager.
