Our members are an essential part of our future development as an NHS Foundation Trust. We hope that thousands of people will want to become involved with our work by becoming members or perhaps by joining our Members Council.
These are important roles for our patients, the public and staff and partner organisations who provide broad representation of our local community, reflecting a variety of different views. People who may wish to consider becoming members are those interested in finding out about our hospital’s current and future proposals and who may wish to contribute to some of the projects and planning that we do.
Give us your views
Being a member is completely FREE - all you have to do is register and then you can:
- Come to special events to show you what goes on behind the scenes at the hospital
- Receive information about the hospital’s plans and developments via a special members-only site and newsletter
- Join specific projects where your personal views on our services will offer a valuable perspective
- Stand for election to the Members Council
- Vote for your representatives on the Members Council
How you can become a member
We are keen to ensure our membership is reflective of the community we serve and our workforce and so we have developed a membership strategy to help us regularly monitor progress that takes place within our Membership Steering Group.
Anyone can apply to become a member of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, no matter what their background or interest.
