We support Speak Out Safely

About Us

Speak Out Safely

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is supporting the Nursing Times Speak Out Safely campaign.

This means that we encourage members of staff to raise any genuine concerns they have about patient safety as soon as possible.

Patient safety

Patient safety is our main concern and we want every member of our staff to feel able to raise concerns about wrongdoing, poor practice, or any other issues of concern if they see it. We also want staff to be confident that their concerns will be addressed in a constructive way, and that their feedback is welcomed.

The Trust promises that where staff identify a genuine patient safety concern, they will be supported. Concerns will be fully investigated and appropriate action taken. Feedback will also be provided as soon as possible about how the issue has been responded to.

All our employees - permanent, agency or temporary staff – and volunteers are encouraged to speak up when they feel something is wrong.

We want staff to be able to Speak Out Safely.
