Our vision for the Campus for Ageing and Vitality is to establish the world's premier centre for healthy ageing and living, making Newcastle the best place in the UK to grow old.
The past 18 months have seen the progressive development of a hugely ambitious and forward thinking vision revolving around the radical rejuvenation of the former Newcastle General Hospital site.
This major investment plan, in excess of £100 million, will set the scene for Newcastle's West End to become nationally and internationally renowned as a leader in Ageing and Health.
Working in close partnership, the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle University and major retail provider Tesco aim to create the UK's very first Campus for Ageing and Vitality.

Accident & Emergency Services have moved
Please note that our Accident and Emergency has now moved to a brand new Emergency Department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Westgate Walk-in Centre is at the former Newcastle General Hospital site for the treatment of minor injuries and ailments.
