The Children’s Hospital benefits from the Trust’s partnership with the Teenage Cancer Trust. Thanks to their generosity the Teenage Cancer Unit has been enhanced to provide more social space for patients (and their friends) who often have to spend long periods of time in hospital.
The extension to the Unit is in the form of a ‘penthouse suite’ on the roof of the Children’s Hospital. The penthouse benefits from some of the best views of the Newcastle skyline.
While visiting the NorthEast, a surprise visit from Joe McElderry to the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Great North Children's Hospital, RVI caused a flurry of excitement as he spent time chatting to patients on the unit.
