Norovirus and Flu are very easily passed on to others and can cause harm

If you have had diarrhoea or vomiting within the last 2 days or you have flu-like symptoms please do not come into hospital. You can often treat the flu and norovirus without seeing your GP. Your local pharmacist can give advice and recommend treatment.

Accident and Emergency

Accident and Emergency

Accident and Emergency is for patients who require immediate, emergency medical attention due to a serious illness or injury. There is now a brand new specialist Emergency Department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Walk in Centres

Our Walk-in Centres are for patients who have a minor injury or ailment and are based at the heart of your community.

Minor Injuries Unit

The Minor Injuries Unit is for patients who have a minor injury or ailment and is based at the RVI in the city centre.

Eye Casualty

Eye Casualty is for patients who have a minor injury or ailment affecting one or both of the eyes and is based at the RVI in the city centre.

Dental Emergency Clinic

The Dental Emergency Clinic is for patients in pain or have facial swelling or bleeding and is based at the Dental Hospital next to the RVI in the city centre.
