The involvement activity to date and the opportunities afforded by the membership of the NHS Foundation Trust are to be integrated to ensure that involvement is a core activity of Trust business. One of two Universities in the city, Northumbria has a large school of Health Community and Education Studies and provides pre and post -registration education for Nurses, Midwives, Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists and Operating Department Practitioners.
The inter-professional Continuous inter-Professional Development (CiPD) Framework contains a variety of awards, which offer the opportunity for students to study one module to a full degree programme. The majority of modules require day attendance at Coach Lane Campus, usually one day a week, for twelve weeks. Award structures are flexible in nature but students are expected to complete their degree studies within five years.
