Refurbishment of Freeman Hospital’s restaurant

The Freeman Hospital's restaurant is currently undergoing refurbishment works, which may result in disruption to the restaurant’s normal service.

The first phase of the refurbishment will start the week commencing 16 April 2018. This will require part of the restaurant to be closed off for patients, staff and visitors, reducing the number of seating available for a 12 week period.

A hot food service will continue to be provided from the existing sandwich bar area back at the back of the restaurant. This service will run on a reduced menu for this 12 week period.

A selection of sandwiches will still be available to purchase in line with the reduced menu.

These works will be undertaken over four phases for a period of 30 weeks with an expected completion date of 25th November 2018.

During the remaining phases the new restaurant will be fully operational providing a full menu service.

It has been 20 years since the restaurant was last refurbished and the works will include a brand new servery area, all contained within a glazed area which can be secured overnight, when required.

The Estates department apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused during these important refurbishment works.
