The NHS Big Tea Party- Think and Take a Drink!

On Friday 5th July, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust held a ‘Big Tea Party’ at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, to highlight the importance of effective hydration.

Deputy Chief Nurse; Liz Harris visited wards 23 and 46 at the RVI to meet patients and staff taking part in the event. “It is fantastic to see staff encouraging patients and raising awareness of such an important campaign” said Liz.

On the morning tea round, patients received a ‘Big Tea Party’ empire biscuit, which was baked on site by our catering team, along with a drink of their choice.

Staff took the opportunity to discuss with patients the importance of hydration for health and wellbeing and handed out leaflets with more information and advice.

The event highlighted just how essential water is for good health and encouraged everyone to ‘think and take a drink’.
