Education and Outreach

NECTAR has a responsibility for education and training of health professionals in the early recognition and the management of the critically ill child. This will help develop and maintain expertise at all levels within the region.

We deliver this through

Outreach meetings at the DGHs

  • Updates about the service
  • Multi disciplinary case review
  • Teaching presentations

Regional multi-disciplinary study days at NECTAR HQ

  • Lectures
  • Simulation training/debrief at NECTAR HQ
  • Skill stations - practical procedures, preparing critical care infusions etc

The NECTAR website also hosts clinical guidelines, drugs/infusion guide/calculator and patient care pathways aimed to drive excellence regionwide.

Multi-disciplinary Study Days
