Patientline

24 Hour Helpline: 0870 212 1234

Bedside audio-visual equipment is currently being installed within the Trust by a company called ‘Patientline’. Patientline provides patients with access to radio, television, telephone and Internet at their bedside. By registering onto the system, patients are not committed to using any of the paid services, but gain access to a variety of FREE services:
 
Television

  • Free 1/2 hour on registration
  • One hour free each day
  • Free to children 16 and under
  • Free Hospital channel
  • Free Patientline Information channel

Telephone

  • No charge to patients for incoming calls
  • One free credit on registration (up to 20p)
  • Free messaging service to inform
  • relatives/friends of contact details
  • Free personal answer phone facility

Radio

  • All stations free for all patients at all times
  • Freephone links to radio station for requests and ‘chat’ shows

Freedom Cards

Pay As You Go Services

Once registered, you can make full use of the Patientline facilities by buying Freedom cards. These cards are used to pay for outgoing phone calls, TV and other services unless otherwise stated as free.
You can buy the Freedom Cards: 

  • From the vending machines located near the ward entrances
  • From the Patientline Advisors on their ward rounds
  • By pressing the green operator button to upload credit form a credit/debit card
  • Pre-Registering

Before you get to hospital, you can register your personal details by calling Patientline on 0845 414 0414 to obtain your personal Patientline extension number.
