Support groups

Bladder Cancer

No local support group. Contact ABC (Action on Bladder Cancer)

Bowel/Colorectal Cancer

Meets twice yearly always on Wednesday 4.00pm – 6.00pm usually in May and October at:

  • Sir James Spence Education Centre, Royal Victoria Infirmary.

Meets every two months on Wednesdays 10.00am – 12.00noon at:

Breast Reconstruction (following treatment for breast cancer)

Meets monthly (Thursday evenings 6.00pm - 7.00pm towards the end of each month) at:

  • Meetings mostly held in Seminar Room 1, Sir James Spence Education Centre, Royal Victoria Infirmary. Attendance is by appointment only.

Meets on the first Monday of each month 7.00pm – 9.00pm at:

  • North Tyneside General Hospital (Education Centre). In the event of Bank Holidays, meetings take place on second Monday.

The Prostate Cancer Support Group (North East)

Meets at North Tyneside General Hospital on the second Wednesday each month.

Prostate Cancer Support (PCS)

Meets at a number of different venues, please call to find the nearest venue and next meeting date.

Open to sarcoma patients and relatives/carers. Meets first Monday each month 7.00pm – 9.30pm at:

Skin Cancer

Gorlin Syndrome (a rare condition where sufferers develop a large number of skin cancers).

Meets four times per year at:

  • The Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle.
