Free Spirits Nursery
Free Spirits Nursery is a superb 88-place day nursery in Newcastle upon Tyne for children from birth up to five years old.
We are based on the Freeman Hospital site in High Heaton and are part of The Newcastle Hospitals Trust. This means you can be reassured that our standards are as high as those you would expect of our internationally renowned healthcare.
Where fun and friendship comes first
Places are available to employees of the Trust as well as non-employees, so you don’t have to work here to place your child in our nursery.
We aim to provide the highest quality childcare and education by creating a safe and stimulating environment where children have the opportunity to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually, in order that they may reach their full potential whilst having the best possible fun.
Laying foundations for learning
Our well balanced programme of play and educational activities ensure children receive a broad and balanced curriculum, appropriate for their age and stage of development.
Improving outcomes for children and families
The nursery is regulated by The Early Years Directorate within the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) and complies with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. We passed our most recent inspection with several outstanding elements.
Ensuring your child is as safe as possible
All staff are subject to employment checks in accordance with NHS standards and are subject to appraisal and mandatory training updates on an annual basis.
The nursery claims Free Early Years Entitlement (FEYE) for all eligible children over the age of three years – it is claimed the term after a child turns three. You could be entitled to an amount of free nursery provision each week.
The nursery accepts a range of childcare vouchers.
