Bride says "Thank You" to Charlie Bear on her wedding day - April 2009

When Sara Morrin married her long term partner, Andrew Taylor earlier this year, 10 years after she was diagnosed with and treated for a brain tumour, she decided to mark their special day by sending a huge thank you to Charlie Bear.

Rather than receiving traditional wedding gifts, the newly weds asked their guests to make donations to the Charlie Bear for Cancer Care Charitable Fund. Find out more about their story here.

Charlie Bear for Cancer Care Fashion Show - 30 June 2008

Monday 30 June 2008 saw the Tup Tup Palace and Loja play host to the fashion extravaganza event for the Charlie Bear for Cancer Care Charitable Fund. A fabulous champagne reception preceeded the evening, followed by entertainment from a very special guest, Karen Harding, 2008's Music Means Life winner.

The first of three fashion shows saw the models battle it out on the catwalk in the "Men vs Women" vintage wear using Royal Vintage Clothing for the males and Yellow Jelly for the females. A buffet was then provided upstairs in Loja, the club's new Californian style addition.

The second of the three fashion shows followed, appealing to the more mature members of the audience with clothes from Fenwicks and hair and make up by Y Salon throughout. A raffle gave guests the opportunity to win amazing prizes from some of the North East's leading companies followed by the final fashion show : "Lingerie and Swimwear". All models were provided by one of the charity's other patrons, Tyne Tees Models. The rest of the evening carried on, with music playing late into the night.
