    I am on the Steering committee of the Northern Colorectal Oncology Group and a member of BAUS. I also sit on NECDAG and the NECN Radiotherapy Group.
    I have the privilege of being Head of Radiotherapy at NCCC.

    Having qualified at Guy's Hospital, London in 1985, I trained in General Medicine and Clinical Oncology in Birmingham and Manchester, receiving my FRCR in 1996.  I spent 3 years on a Clinical Research Fellowship in Birmingham before taking up my present Consultant post in Clinical Oncology in 1999.
    My areas of sub-specialisation are the treatment of lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies and gastro-intestinal tumours. This involves administration of both chemo- and radiotherapy.
    My interests include Research and Radiotherapy Technology Development.  I am Clinical Lead for IGRT, involved with the development of SABR/SBRT, and with SIRT treatment for liver tumours.

    My medical training was at Trinity Cambridge and Charing Cross Hospital London. I trained in oncology at the Hammersmith Hospital before moving to the North East in 1985. I was appointed consultant in 1988 and have held clinics in a number of hospitals in the region including Queen Elizabeth Gateshead, Dryburn, Bishop Auckland and more recently North Tyneside. I was clinical director for cancer services at Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust from 2004-2010 during which time the service moved across the city to the new NCCC at the Freeman.
    I have worked with the North of England Cancer Network since its inception. I was chair of the network radiotherapy group from 2005 to 2011 and in November 2012 I became medical director of the cancer network.
    I am actively involved in clinical research and I am local principle investigator for a number of national clinical trials.

    I have a specialist interest in urological malignancies and lymphoma radiotherapy. In particular I have been involved in the development and implementation of state of the art radiotherapy techniques including image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and Tomotherapy. I am also leading the Newcastle team expanding the prostate brachytherapy programme.
    I am responsible for the delivery of systemic treatment including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and hormone therapies for all urological malignancies. I am actively involved in clinical research and a Principal Investigator in a number of clinical trials.
    I work closely with the haematology lymphoma team and deliver radiotherapy for haematological malignancies. I also run a joint clinic with dermatology looking after Mycoisis Fungoides patients from across the North-East of England.

Having fallen in love with the North East, I was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2004.  I  specialize in non-surgical treatments for breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma radiotherapy.
    After being involved in medical education as Training Program Director for the Clinical Oncology Northern Deanery  training scheme ( 2009 to 2014) I have taken the role of Clinical Governance lead,  oncology team at NCCC ( 2015 to date).

    I lead a number of clinical trials in my areas of interest based at Sir Bobby Robson Unit and am actively involved in mentoring and teaching for oncology trainees.
    I am Chair of the Neuro-science MDT and Neuro-oncology Network MDT for brain tumours.
    I am delighted that thanks to generosity of local charities that we are now able to offer local patients stereotactic radiosurgery to brain tumours (primary and secondary) at NCCC. This is a special interest area for me and we hope to expand this service in the next 5 years.

    Oncologist and past MDT lead Multidisciplinary Regional Thyroid team Newcastle, recognised as a centre of excellence in Thyroid cancer management with several members playing national lead roles in trials,guideline development, surgery, endocrinology ,pathology ,radiology, specialist nursing, patient support and counselling in relation to thyroid cancer.   The MDT  has obtained several  national awards including  the prestigious first prize –“Best Hospital Doctor Oncology Team of the Year” Award - Nov 2007, Best Multidisciplinary  thyroid cancer team  -U K  NHS  National Peer Review 2007, 2010,2011. It developed the first  U K  Regional Thyroid cancer management guideline which formed the basis of National guideline , a multidisciplinary weekly  thyroid cancer clinic in the UK involving an expert patient adviser and helped set up  the award winning  first UK  thyroid cancer patient support group Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust- (BTCT).

    I am one of the few clinicians in the UK with dual accreditation in palliative medicine and clinical oncology.
    I graduated from medical school in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 1985.  I initially gained experience in respiratory medicine and HIV medicine in Newcastle, Manchester and London, then formally trained in Palliative Medicine – attaining entry to the specialist register for Palliative Medicine in 1995.
    I then trained in Clinical Oncology, becoming a consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2000.  Prior to taking up the post as a consultant Clinical Oncologist I spent time as a Clinical Fellow at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto – within their Palliative Radiation Oncology Programme.
    My main aim as an oncologist remains that of striving to optimise not only the duration but also the quality of life for patients, hence my role as UK Chief Investigator for the QUARTZ trial.
    I have a keen interest in training and am the Royal College of Radiologist (RCR) Regional Specialty Advisor for the Northern Deanery and sit on the RCR Specialty Training Board.

    I was appointed as Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology in 2014. Prior to this I undertook specialist medical oncology training at the Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow and the Northern Centre for Cancer Care, Newcastle. During this time I was awarded a Cancer Research UK PhD fellowship which I completed in 2010.

    As a clinical academic, my time is divided between research and clinical practice. I am involved in the development and running of early phase clinical trials and the management of patients on the Sir Bobby Robson Research unit at the Freeman Hospital. My research interests are targeting DNA repair pathways as treatments for cancer and the gynaecological malignancies.

    I work in the Northern Centre for Bone Marrow Transplantation and hold a Wellcome Intermediate Fellowship (2013-2018) for research. I completed a degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge before turning to medicine, studying again in Cambridge and at University College London.  I undertook my specialist haematology training in Newcastle, where I have remained ever since. I was appointed as a consultant in 2011.
    In the research laboratory I study how dendritic cells, important regulators of the immune system, are formed from the bone marrow and how this can go wrong in bone marrow diseases or as a result of faulty genes.     Professor Jackson works in Haematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is a Professor of  Clinical Haematology at Newcastle University. He graduated from Cambridge in 1980 and went on to study medicine at the Westminster School of Medicine. He gained his MRCP in 1986 and then moved to Newcastle University to undertake his MD, which he completed in 1992.  Professor Jackson obtained his MRCPath in 1993, followed by his FRCP in 1999 and his FRCPath in 2000. He also worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle.
    His research interests focus on the role of drug resistance in myeloma, development of long-term bone marrow transplant follow-up clinics, and the cytokine profile of acute and chronic GVHD. Clinically he has been involved in writing a number of guidelines including the BCSH anti-fungal guidelines. Professor Jackson has written a number of book chapters and has published more than 125 peer reviewed papers.
    He wasthe President of the British Society of Haematology in 2014 and was the treasurer of the society until April 2013. He is also the President of the British Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BSBMT) and serves on the Clinical Trials Awards and Advisory Committee (CTAAC) as well as the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research grants committee. He is also actively involved in the national myeloma trials committee.

    I graduated from Nottingham University in 1994 and completed specialist training in haematology in Newcastle in 2005 and was appointed as a consultant haematologist in 2005.
    I offer some clinics in general haematology but most of my work centres on the care of patients with haematological cancers,  particularly lymphoma and acute leukaemias.  I chair the directorate’s chemotherapy committee and the Northern Cancer Network’s Haematology Group.
    I am a member of the UK AML working group which designs national trials for patients with acute myeloid leukaemia. I am also a member of the UK Myelodysplasia Group.
    I sit on the Haematological Cancer group of the British Committee for Standards in Haematology.
    I am the Principal Investigator for a number of clinical trials

    I joined the Freeman Hospital in 2010, after having spent 4 years at Harvard’s  Children’s Hospital as a post-doctoral researcher.  I completed my PhD at Cambridge University following my studies in Medicine at the Free University in Berlin and my specialist training in Haematology in the UK (St Thomas Hospital, London, Ipswich Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge).
    I am interested in setting up an early phase trials team for our haemato-oncology patients, with the aim to ultimately bring novel targeted therapy to the Freeman Hospital. I am the Chief investigator on the TIDaL trial and Prinicipal investigator on several trials.
    At the national level, I am member of the adult acute lymphoblastic leukaemia working group and I am on the steering group for the UKALL14 trial. I am member of the national Lymphoma Clinical Study Group and member of the national low grade lymphoma working group.

    I am a Consultant Haematologist at the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Professor of Haematology at Newcastle University. I qualified in Manchester in 1987 and following training and research jobs at the Hammersmith/Imperial College in London, I have been a consultant in Newcastle since 1999.
    I am the Chief Investigator for the National Cancer Research Network’s SPIRIT trials in chronic myeloid leukaemia, and member of the European Leukemia Network. I am also a member of NICE Technology Appraisal Committee C and co-chair of the North of England Cancer Drug Fund.

    Dr Wendy Osborne is a Consultant Haematologist at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She graduated with First Class Honours from Newcastle University in 1998 and completed her General Medical Training at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, obtaining MRCP in 2001. Dr Osborne worked in haematology departments in Glasgow before returning to Newcastle to undertake Higher Specialist Training, obtaining FRCPath in 2012. She was appointed as a Consultant at the Freeman Hospital in 2013.
    Dr Osborne has an interest in lymphoma and myeloproliferative neoplasms. She is a member of the NCRI High Grade lymphoma sub-group and the CML working group. She is a principal investigator and co-investigator for numerous phase III trials.
    Dr Osborne is the teaching lead for the haematology undergraduate programme at Newcastle University and was appointed Associate Lecturer in 2016.

I am an active member of British Blood transfusion society and of the International society for Blood transfusion.  I am a member of the MPD NCRN subgroup and  of the CLL forum. I lecture widely mainly on transfusion topics. My research and publications are mainly related to blood transfusion.     Trained at the University of Aberdeen, I initially trained as a GP, but found Palliative Medicine more interesting, and trained as a registrar in the Northern Region.  During training, I completed a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and a Certificate in Medical Education. I worked as a consultant in Gateshead for 9 years, but was very happy to move to the excellent Palliative Care Team at NCCC in October 2011.  I work four days a week, seeing patients on the wards and in clinics, taking part in our weekly multidisciplinary team meeting, and leading a CBT clinic at St Oswald’s Hospice.
    I enjoy teaching students and staff about Palliative Medicine and CBT.  I am an educational supervisor for trainees and a member of the local Specialty Training Committee.
    I am a member of the Association for Palliative Medicine.
