  • Biography

I qualified in 1992 from Newcastle and trained flexibly entirely in the NE. Initially starting in General medicine, I then trained in GP. However my interest and skills were always in Palliative Medicine and I completed specialist training in 2007. I took up a consultant post here with the RVI Palliative Care Team and in the past 5 years have also provided consultant sessions at the Marie Curie Hospice on a temporary basis.
Since commencing my post here I have further developed my interest in ketamine, contributing to the Palliative Care Formulary. I have also been involved with service developments regarding palliative care for non cancer patients. I am involved in OP clinics for some neurological conditions.
I organise Stage 5 Tyne Base undergraduate Palliative medicine element and have an interest in both postgraduate and undergraduate training.
