The chemotherapy day unit provides a safe and friendly environment for patients receiving chemotherapy and supportive treatments for cancer.

Our staff have many years of experience in the field of oncology and are committed to providing a high standard of care and support to all our patients, families and carers. The process of receiving chemotherapy includes all aspects of social, physical and psychosocial care of the patient and their families.

All staff are fully trained in venepuncture, cannulation, the insertion of mid-lines, care of central lines and the administration of cytotoxic drugs. Some staff are also trained in the placement of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines) which may be required to deliver some chemotherapy regimens.
