Things you need to know

  • Note if your family would like to visit the ward prior to admission then you are very welcome to do so. This can be arranged by telephoning the staff on the ward.
  • There is an open visiting policy with parents encouraged to stay with their child. Facilities can be arranged if any parents wish to stay with their child.
  • The ward has a large playroom equipped with toys, games and books. There is also an outside play area, which is open when the weather permits!
  • We have a Hospital Play Specialist who assists with children’s play. We do request that visiting children be supervised whilst using the playroom.
  • We also have a separate teenager’s sitting room where they can relax with television, computer and games on hand.
