Ward 50 is a Critical Care Unit providing specialist care for adult patients who have been admitted with chest pain and heart conditions such as angina, suspected or known heart attacks and heart failure. 

Patients who come here will have been referred here either by their GP, our the Accident and Emergency Department, Emergency Admissions Unit  or Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic.

 Ward 50 is located on the fourth floor of Leazes wing at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.  To find us:

  • Come through the Leazes Wing Outpatient entrance and walk past the reception desk on your right until you reach the lifts.
  • Take the lift upto level four and Ward 50 is clearly signposted.

Things you need to know

  • Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with infection control
