We have a wide range of play facilities for our busy ward. There is an open plan play room on the main ward, which has a variety of baby toys such as musical toys and baby gyms, pre-school toys, creative and role play toys such as a kitchen, hoovers, push along and ride along toys. We have jigsaws and board games for all ages, a wide selection of arts and crafts, creative collage making activities, DVDs and specialised sensory toys.

We also have a large selection of shiny, glitter, metallic and ordinary paints, play dough, gluing and sticking materials for a wide age range to cater for all our children and young people.

In our treatment room we have a 3D interactive VPOD system for our children and young people, which we use as a distraction tool when they have their cannulation done. We also have a mini iPad that we use for distraction for the children and young people to use, as well as using it for learning and educational purposes.

We have a selection of DVDs and DVD players for our children and young people, as well as and Xbox games console and four portable TV and DVD systems, and a Starlight DVD and games console for them to use.

There is also a sensory and relaxation area which includes a hurricane tube, infinity tunnel, sensory toys, fibre optic lights, disco ball, sensory and textured balls, activity cube and an Omi Vista interactive floor projector for the children and young people to fully immerse themselves in with the splat, scatter and wipe games and learning activities by using their feet.
