Ward 24 NGH

The staff on Ward 24 specialise in looking after children of all ages with neurological conditions who need treatment and neurosurgery. We also provide chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for children diagnosed with brain tumours.

Ward 24 has a two bedded adolescent bay for our older patients as well as five special cubicles which allow parents to stay with their children.

The Children's Day Unit is also located on Ward 24 where we see children with medical and surgical conditions.  Staff on the Day Unit take bloods and give intravenous immunoglobulin to children with immune deficiency.

Ward 24 is based on the ground floor of the Newcastle General Hospital. To find us:

  • Come through the main entrance of the hospital and walk straight down the main corridor.
  • You will find Ward 24 about half way down the corridor on your right hand side.

How to get to the hospital

Staff you are likely to meet

The clinical team on Ward 24 includes: Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Play Specialists and Nursery Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
