Ward 7 New Victoria Wing (GNCH)

The Children’s Haemodialysis Unit, Ward 7 at the Great North Children's hospital is a regional centre for children who need haemodialysis.

We also provide other day-case investigations and treatments for long-term renal conditions, such as plasmapheresis.

Opening times

The unit has seven dialysis beds and we are open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8.00am and 4.00pm.

We dialyse children of all ages up to 18 years.


How to find us

Ward 7 is on Level 3 of the Great North Children's Hospital, in the New Victoria Wing at the RVI in Newcastle.

  • Enter the main entrance and keep to the left hand side there you will see the lift opposite main reception desk.
  • Enter the lift and select level 03 upon exiting the lift please follow the sign post for Ward 7 to your left hand side corridor follow the corridor until arriving at your destination.

  • Enter Leazes Wing main entrance, walk past the reception desk and turn right when you reach the café.
  • Walk down this corridor until you reach a junction, there you will find the stairs and lifts take either of these to level 03.
  • Exit the lift and take a left along the corridor follow the corridor until arriving at your destination.

  • Enter the hospital from the multi-storey car park and take your immediate left keep going along the corridor past the escalators and take the next left, carry on straight ahead until you see the lifts.
  • Enter the lift and select level 03 upon exiting the lift please follow the sign post for Ward 7 to your left hand side follow the corridor until arriving at your destination.
