What does the service do?
The community dental department provides a full range of dental treatment for patients who are residents of Newcastle and who fit one or more of the following criteria:
- Under eighteen
- Homeless
- Asylum seeker
- Have mental health problems
- Have learning difficulties
- Are medically compromised
- Have a phobia towards visiting the dentist
- Unable to obtain treatment under the NHS through the general dental services
The department also provides a dental access element for those residents of Newcastle and North Tyneside who cannot find an NHS dentist.
How can I access the service?
Patients can directly contact the clinics or centre they wish to attend in order to arrange an appointment. The services outlined are open to patients Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm and are closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
