Patient quote

"Just a note to express how impressed my husband and I were with the service at the Dental Clinic.  We found all staff concerned, consultants, nursing staff, radiologists and receptionists pleasant and helpful despite working on a Saturday! Thank you so much" Mr & Mrs AS

Dental Services

Dental Emergency Clinic

This service is designed to treat adults who are unable to see their regular Dentist and have an urgent dental issue e.g. if you have had an injury, are in severe pain, have facial swelling or bleeding.  This clinic does not provide specialist opinions however we will endeavour to relieve severe dental pain and symptoms you are experiencing.

A family dental visit

The emergency clinic is based at the Dental Hospital and is open Monday to Friday (apart from Bank Holidays) from 9.00am each morning.

We no longer offer a walk-in service, appointments are available through 111 on the basis of need.  If you have an urgent dental problem please contact your own dentist in the first instance, or 111.

Please be advised we are currently running a very limited service and may only be able to see very urgent cases.

Treatment on our department is provided only to the extent that is necessary to prevent significant deterioration in oral health or address the cause of severe pain.

Treatment may include temporary dressings or extractions. Permanent fillings are not available on this department.

A full dental heath check will not be completed to address all oral health issues and so it is essential that you register with a general dental practitioner for ongoing maintenance check ups and care.

If you are experiencing an urgent dental problem and the hospital is closed please telephone 111.
