Phototherapy Day Treatment Area
The Phototherapy Day Treatment Area provides specialist treatment and advice for patients with a range of skin disorders including psoriasis and eczema. Treatments carried out include:
- Phototherapy (specialist light based therapy using ultra violet (UV) radiation from artificial light sources, including narrow band, broad band, UVB, and PUVA)
- Blood monitoring for systemic (ie: medicine in tablet form) therapies
- Topical treatments (ie: skin cream based )
- Monitoring of Methotrexate (specialist medication used to treat different types of rheumatic disease, including rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis)
The Treatment Area is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Things you need to know
- Depending on your prescribed treatment you may need to attend the clinic two - three times a week, or even daily.
- Men should bring appropriate underwear allowing complete protection of the genital area from the ultra violet light.
- A nurse will discuss your treatment and any associated side effects with you, as this is a nurse led clinic.
