The Royal Victoria Infirmary runs the only clinic in the Northern Region for people with skin problems around the genital area.  As well as providing the best possible course of treatment, our specialist clinicians offer support and guidance for patients who find their skin condition physically or emotionally distressing.

The Genital Dermatoses Clinic is based in the Yellow Zone of Dermatology outpatients in the basement of the Royal Victoria Infirmary.  To find us:

  • Come through the main entrance on Queen Victoria Road and turn right into the main outpatient department.
  • Walk through main outpatients onto the basement corridor, continue to walk along and the clinic is in the Yellow Zone on your right hand side.
  • Please report to the nurse’s station at the end of the corridor.

Staff you are likely to meet

The clinic is run by Dr Janet McLelland, Consultant Dermatologist, supported by nursing and other staff. Dr McLelland also holds joint clinics with Miss Michael from the Gynaecology Department and Dr Hussey from Genito-Urinary-Medicine.

Things you need to know

  • There is a WRVS refreshment bar available in main outpatients during most clinic times
