Leg Ulcer Service

Contact: (0191) 282 0053 - Sister S Rushton

Our specialist Leg Ulcer clinic is run by qualified nursing staff. At the clinic you will receive a full assessment of your condition and one of our specialist nurses will provide regular treatment or advise a course of treatment to be carried out by your practice or district nurse.

As part of the assessment, a nurse may take a Doppler reading to check your blood circulation and may apply a compression bandage if required. You will be closely monitored by the nursing team until your ulcer begins to heal. Your care will be overseen by a Consultant Dermatologist.
