Our specialist Leg Ulcer clinic is run by qualified nursing staff. At the clinic you will receive a full assessment of your condition and one of our specialist nurses will provide regular treatment or advise a course of treatment to be carried out by your practice or district nurse.
As part of the assessment, a nurse may take a Doppler reading to check your blood circulation and may apply a compression bandage if required. You will be closely monitored by the nursing team until your ulcer begins to heal. Your care will be overseen by a Consultant Dermatologist.
The Leg Ulcer Service is based in the Yellow Zone of Dermatology outpatients on the ground floor of the Royal Victoria Infirmary. To find us:
The clinic is led by Sister Sarah Rushton. When you arrive you will be assessed by one of the nurses who will provide your treatment as prescribed by one of our consultant dermatologists or a specialist nurse.
