At the Freeman and RVI there are number of wards and departments devoted to the many specialties that lie within our Internal Medicine Services.
Whatever your ailment, you will be seen by a team of experts specialising in your particular condition. A wide range of services are provided, ranging from common medical conditions to more complex problems affecting parts of the body such as the immune system, liver and lungs.

Our staff are committed to providing high quality personalised care in a safe and comfortable environment. They work together in close knit multi-disciplinary teams involving radiologists, specialist nurses and many other support staff, to ensure you receive expert advice and that your treatment and aftercare is tailored to your individual needs.
We are a large clinical trials and research unit with close links with Newcastle University, which means that our patients can be offered the opportunity to try potential new therapies for their conditions and can be the first to benefit from ground-breaking new treatments.
No matter where you live you can be referred here by your GP, and our patients come from across the North East with some travelling from much farther afield in the UK and even from abroad. Many of our patients are transferred from other hospitals when they do not have the necessary expertise.
