Ward 31 RVI

Ward 31 is a specialist ward for adults diagnosed with diabetes or endocrine related complications, and for short stays for older people with acute conditions.


Patients can be referred here from the Assessment Suite and other areas of the Newcastle Hospitals.

Ward 31 can be found on level three of the Leazes Wing. To find us:

  • Exit car park via Claremont Wing link corridor
  • On entering the New Victoria Wing from the car park turn right
  • Head towards Leazes Wing
  • Ward 31 is after Leazes Reception

Enter via Leazes Wing Main Entrance from Richardson Road:

  • Come through the Leazes Wing Main Entrance
  • Walk past the reception desk and take a turn to your left
  • Follow corridor
  • Ward 31 is well sign posted

How to get to the hospital

Staff you are likely to meet

Ward 31 is led by Sister Scott and the clinical team includes doctors specialising in endocrine and diabetes related conditions, specialist diabetic nurses, nursing and other support staff.  You may also meet physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers.
