Ward 51 RVI - Programmed Investigation Unit

Ward 51 is also known as the Programmed Investigations Unit. We provide clinical assessments and treatments for patients with associated with respiratory, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology and metabolic disorders. Patients are cared for on this ward as inpatients, outpatients and day cases.
Ward 51 is only open from Monday to Friday and is therefore closed at weekends.

Ward 51 is located on the fourth floor of Leazes Wing at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. To find us:
- Come through Leazes Wing Main Entrance, walk past the reception desk and turn to your right.
- Follow this corridor to the lift or the stairs and go up to the fourth floor.
- When you come out of the lifts turn you will enter a small seating area. Follow the signs round to your right and you will see Ward 51 is clearly signposted.
Staff you are likely to meet
The clinical team on Ward 51 is made up of doctors, nursing staff and other members of support staff.
Things you need to know
- Ward 51 is open Monday to Friday only and is therefore closed at weekends.
- There is a dayroom on the ward with TV and DVD.
- We have a microwave for patients if they wish to provide their own meals.
- Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with infection control.
