Ward 20 Freeman Hospital

Ward 20 is an adult orthopaedic surgical ward caring for patients undergoing elective (planned) surgery. 

We have seven consutlants based on Ward 20 specialising in bone tumour surgery, spinal surgery, hip and knee surgery and foot and ankle surgery.

Ward 20 is based on the seventh floor of Freeman Hospital. To find us:

  • Come through the Main Entrance and follow the main corridor, passing the shop and hairdressers until you reach the end.
  • Turn left and take the lift or stairs to level 7 and follow the sign for Ward 20.

How to get to the hospital

Staff you are likely to meet

The clinical team on Ward 20 consists of orthopaedic surgeons, specialist nurses, junior medical staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other support staff.

Things you need to know

  • As we have so many patients coming in and going home it may be necessary to rearrange the ward to make way for new patients coming in for operations. We apologise for any inconvenience should this affect you.
