Neurology Outpatient Department NGH

The NGH’s Neurology Outpatient Department is based in the Neurosciences Centre.

A comprehensive range of general and specialist clinics are held here and you may be seen by one of our neurosurgeons, neurologists or nurse specialists who also run clinics here.

Several specialist nurses are available for advice and support for conditions affecting the brain and nervous system, including:

  • head injury
  • epilepsy
  • neuro-oncology (brain tumours)
  • pain

The Neurology Outpatient Department is based in the Regional Neurosciences Centre at Newcastle General Hospital. To find us:

  • Come through the Neurosciences entrance, turn to your left and go through the double doors. 
  • Carry on straight down the corridor through the next set of double doors and go to the reception area on your left hand side.

The Neurology Outpatient Department is based in the Regional Neurosciences Centre at Newcastle General Hospital. To find us:

  • Come through the Main Entrance and follow the main corridor until you see signs for the Neurosciences Department. 
  • Turn left and follow the corridor until you reach a set of double doors directly in front of you.
  • Carry on straight down this corridor through the next set of double doors and go to the reception area on your left hand side.

Staff you are likely to meet

The clinical team in the outpatient department is led by Sister Christine Kyle and consists of neurologists, neurosurgeons, specialist nurses, nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other support staff.

Things you need to know

  • Please report to the receptionist 10 minutes before your appointment, (unless advised to attend earlier) and show your appointment card.
  • If you are experiencing any problems managing at home please talk to a member of the nursing staff before you leave the clinic.
