Specialised genetic services have developed in the United Kingdom as regional centres of expertise and in the Northern Region, these services are co-ordinated through the Northern Genetics Service which is part of the Institute of Human Genetics. 

Our service is provided at both the International Centre for Life in Newcastle and the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
