The Trust employs some of the country's leading consultants and is able to offer a wide range of specialties and procedures to fit your needs, many of which are available as an ‘all inclusive package’, so you have the security of knowing how much your treatment/procedure will cost. We are delighted to announce that we have recently introduced Bariatric Surgery (also known as Lap Banding) for Weight Loss. (Please see our pricing examples on the next page). Once you have achieved your weight loss goal our plastic surgeons will be pleased to discuss with you your body image requirements.
Our Plastic Surgeons are able to offer a wide range of Aesthetic Surgery including Breast Augmentation, Breast Reduction, Face Lift, Nose Adjustment, Liposuction, Tummy tuck etc. as well as non surgical treatments for facial lines etc. All at very competitive prices.

We welcome private patients across the Trust (Freeman Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary and Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Life) as well as on the Bishop Ward, which is a dedicated Private Patient facility at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Please note that unfortunately for clinical reasons not all of our range of procedures are carried out at the Bishop Ward, and for some operations such as Cardiac and Spinal Surgery you will be admitted to a NHS ward (we try to provide a side room where possible). This is reflected in the fees charged.
The Bishop Ward, which was established almost 14 years ago is situated in the Victoria Wing of the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in the centre of Newcastle. The Bishop Ward has 12 single rooms. 10 of the rooms have en suite facilities and two have been adapted to accomodate Bariatric Surgery patients. All the rooms are equipped with a fridge, satellite television and telephone. The Bishop Ward has a dedicated Chef and Dietician who will be happy to discuss your dietary needs with you: Gluten Free, Low fat, Diabetic, Vegetarian, Halal and Kosher meals are all available.
The Bishop Ward received the highest accolade from Benenden Healthcare Society members for the second year running, who voted the Bishop Ward highest of all the Society hospitals for the quality and presentation of the meals. This is a great achievement of which we are justly proud.
To support the Bishop Ward we have a dedicated private theatre – the Ross Taylor Theatre, fully equipped as you would expect any theatre in an acute NHS teaching hospital to be. The Theatre is a short distance from the ward so your privacy and dignity is assured at all times.
