Cataract Surgery

By working as a consultant team, the Consultant Eye Surgeons Partnership can offer all inclusive private cataract surgery, performed by the Consultant of your choice (please see Consultant Eye Surgeons Partnership for details)  at an inclusive surgey cost of  £1642.00 per eye. Specifically excluded is the pre and post operative consultations at £110 for new and £80.00 for follow ups.

Most patients choose local anaesthetic day case surgery requiring only a half-day hospital visit, with the actual surgery usually completed in less than 30 minutes. Local anaesthetic also means age or ill-health should not normally be a barrier to cataract surgery. A consultant anaesthetist is also present at all cases to ensure your comfort during the procedure. General anaesthetic is an option for some patients if required.  The microsurgery to remove the cataract is performed using small incision Phacomulsification technique, with usually good healing of the eye and recovery of vision.

Please note a referral is not always necessary for an initial cataract consultation.

In addition to being experienced cataract surgeons our consultant ophthalmologists include leading sub specialists in all areas of eye disease. Charges for a private out-patient appointment with a Consultant Eye Surgeons Partnership sub specialist are £110.00 for a new appointment and £80.00 for a follow-up appointment.
