Patient Information has been provided for the Radiology Services offered by the X-ray department, to help you to prepare for your examination.
The patient information has been designed to answer any questions or concerns that you may have in relation to the many radiological procedures, offered by the X-ray department. Procedures such as, CT, MRI or Ultrasound, are all explained, telling you how they are performed and what you may experience. The X-ray category groups are listed below the 'Your Care Pathway' button on the navigation menu. Each group contains the list of examinations for that X-ray category with a short description, free of jargon, for each examination. Please click on the examination of interest (as highlighted and numbered in the list) to view the patient information.
The information provided is approved by the Radiology team and reviewed periodically. All patient information is available in both standard and large print size if you want to keep a record of the information you need. The information details for whichever of the Newcastle hospital x-ray departments you are attending.
