Whether you have had a pretty major surgical procedure or have had an illness and need some time to recuperate, our main concern is making sure you have a speedy recovery and get back on your feet again.
Our Rehabilitation Department is made up of both our occupational therapy team and physiotherapy staff who provide dedicated, supportive care and treatment in all areas of our hospitals here in Newcastle no matter what your condition or disorder.
We provide one of the largest rehabilitation services in the North East, offering specialist care for both inpatients and outpatients. Our therapy staff have a major role to play in patient care planning and decision making processes and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced health professionals committed to ensuring you receive high quality care and get the support you need when it is time for your to be discharged from hospital.
Due to the specialist nature of some of the surgery and medicine we offer here in the Newcastle Hospitals, an important part of our staff’s role is to liaise with healthcare colleagues who continue to look after you, wherever you live, to ensure you get seamless continuity of care when it is time to go home.
