I've got a tiny satellite dish behind my ear to help me hear
"To all the wonderful staff on Ward 30. Thank you so much for all of your care during my 'dialysis days'. I hope I don't have to see you again - well not in the same circumstances anyway! Everything is going brilliant with my mother's ex-kidney and I am feeling excellent". Mr DW
"On the 30th May I was admitted to the Freeman Hospital and on the 31st received a new kidney, my brother being my donor. Both he and I were very apprehensive and scared. This was a worrying time for both of us, as it would be for anyone in the same position. After the operation, I was in Ward 6a and my brother in Ward 3.
I would like to thank all the staff who cared for me on Ward 6a; they were extremely professional, caring and understanding. This was a worrying time and they made me feel at ease and would be there at the drop of a hat if/when any complications or if feeling down they would reassure me and everyone.
The nurses there were fantastic, I would like to say thank you to ALL the nurses, especially Lynne Wright and Sharron Sales. There were many I would also like to thank, but cannot remember all the names. Can you you also please pass on my thanks to the following people:
Mr Manas who performed my operation
Mr Rix who performed my brother's operation
Kim Russell, Kidney Co-ordinator
Dr Tapson
Dr Andrew Bowes
Dr Torpey
Anne, Toni and Mary, PD nurses
Jeanie, Belinda, Karin and ALL the staff in the RCIU
I have seen many nurses, consultantsand staff whilst at the Freeman and would like to say thank you to ALL. Unfortunately I cannot remember all their names. It must by my age!" Ms AW
"I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the care and consideration you showed both to my Mother during her illness and up to her passing away, and also the care and consideration you showed towards her family both before and after my Mother's death.
The staff's approach and their caring towards us and my Mother is very difficult to express in words, it was way beyond the call of duty. If everyone was so caring as these staff members were it would be a far better place than what some Nursing Care situations we have found to be.
Let me just finish on a personal note - the kindness they showed myself and my wife, my sister whose medical needs you catered for when they required them and my nephews and nieces, all expressed to myself how great they thought everyone had been looked after." Mr JC
"I am writing to express my gratitude for the care and attention I received when I was brought from Wansbeck Hospital to the Freeman in the early hours of Sunday 29th July suffering from kidney stones and in a great deal of pain. From the start staff were polite and friendly. I just knew I had come to the right place and things would 'get sorted' - which they eventually were.
My thanks are due to all the staff but particularly to the whole team on Ward 4. They were all so kind and considerate despite being so very busy." Ms CP
