Ward 22 Freeman Hospital

Ward 22 at Freeman Hospital has 19 stations for the treatment of adults who require chronic haemodialysis.

Haemodialysis is usually performed two or three times a week, each session lasting between three and five hours. Haemodialysis is provided for outpatients and for patients who are admitted for inpatient care.

Haemodiafiltration is available for appropriate patients.

Ward 22 (Haemodialysis Unit) is based at Freeman Hospital. To find us:

  • Come through the Main Entrance and follow the main corridor, passing the shop and hairdressers until you reach the end.
  • Turn left and take the lift or stairs to level 4 and follow the sign for Ward 22 (Haemodialysis Unit).

How to get to the hospital

Staff you are likely to meet

The Haemodialysis Unit is led by Sister Carina Taylor and the clinical team is made up of specialist nurses, renal dieticians and other support staff. Patients can be seen by one of our nephrologists, (doctors with a special interest in the care of the kidneys.)

Things you need to know

  • Please clean your hands with the alcohol gel provided on entry to and exit from the ward.
  • Note transport can be arranged by the hospital. Please ask the ward staff for more information.
