Ward 32 at the Renal Services Centre is a adult renal medical ward caring for patients with all types of conditions affecting the kidneys. 

Admissions may be planned for investigations such as a kidney biopsy, or may be for emergency patients requiring more complex medical care.  Patients may also be transferred for specialised investigation and treatment which cannot be provided in local hospitals across the region.


How to find us

Ward 32 is based in the Renal Services Centre at Freeman Hospital.   To find us:

  • Come through the Main Entrance of the Northern Centre for Cancer Treatment and Renal Services Centre, and you will find yourself in the main atrium of the centre on Level 2. 
  • Take the stairs up to the next floor so that you are on Level 3 continue walking forward until you reach some double doors. Alternatively take the lift up to Level 3 and turn to your right when you come out. Head for the double doors in front of you to the left.
  • Follow the sign for Ward 32 which is on your left hand side.

Staff you are likely to meet

Ward 32 is led by Sister Tina Bell and Matron Julia Ibbotson. The clinical team consists of nine Consultant Nephrologists and a team of junior doctors, renal specialist nurses, nursing and support staff, renal dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers.

Things you need to know

  • Please clean your hands with the alcohol gel provided on entry to and exit from the ward.
  • Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward.  These measures are to help with infection control.
