Endoscopy Unit RVI

This daycase unit offers investigation and treatment for people with a wide range of conditions requiring an endoscopic procedure.
Patients can be referred to this unit by their own GP or hospital doctor for investigation.

Patients who are referred to the RVI's Endoscopy Unit must report to the Endoscopy Unit Reception, which is located on Level 3, Leazes Wing at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).
Please enter the RVI via the Leazes Wing Entrance on Richardson Road:
- walk past the Leazes Wing Reception Desk on your left and turn right
- the Endoscopy Unit is situated on the left, just past the Hairdressers
- please report to Endoscopy Unit Reception Desk
Staff you are likely to meet
The Endoscopy Unit is led by Sister E Woodall. The team on the unit includes nurses, health care assistants, nurse endoscopists, doctors, reception and administration staff plus other support staff.
Things you need to know
You will have been sent or given a procedure information leaflet with your appointment letter – please read this carefully and follow any instructions.
When you arrive at the hospital please report to the Endoscopy Unit Reception, Level 3, Leazes Wing, RVI.
The staff in the Endoscopy Unit will explain the procedure to you and look after you before, during and after the procedure until you are ready to be collected to go home.
