Ward 46 is a general surgical ward which mainly provides care for people requiring treatment for a range of surgical procedures focusing on bowel (colorectal) disorders.

Ward 46 is based on level 5 of Leazes Wing at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. To find us:
- Come through the main entrance of Leazes Wing which can be entered off Richardson Road.
- Take the lift or stairs to floor three and follow the signs for Ward 46.
Staff you are likely to meet
The clinical team on Ward 46 is led by Sister Stephenson and includes surgeons, specialist nurses, ward nurses, and other support staff.
Things you need to know
- We recognise that family and friends will be anxious to hear of patients' progress. However If possible, can one nominated person ring the ward for information about their relative.
- If your relative requires high dependency care following their operation, if possible, please collect property and valuables on day of surgery from the ward as there are limited storage facilities available.
- Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with infection control.
