Ward 8 is part of the Regional Northern Vascular Centre which is based at Freeman Hospital.
Ward 8 is a general surgical ward which mainly provides care for people requiring treatment for a range of vascular problems and has close links with our Disablement Services Centre.

Ward 8 is based on the fourth floor at the Freeman Hospital. To find us:
- Come through the Main Entrance and follow the main corridor, passing the shop and hairdressers until you reach the end.
- Turn left and take the lift or stairs to level 4 and follow the sign for Ward 8.
Staff you are likely to meet
The clinical team on Ward 8 is led by Sister Peters and includes vascular surgeons, specialist nurses, ward nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other support staff.
Things you need to know
- If your relative requires high dependency care following their operation, wherever possible, please collect property and valuables on day of surgery from the ward as there are limited storage facilities available.
- Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with infection control.
