Ward 1 Freeman Hospital

Ward 1 is an adult urology ward which provides care for men and women requiring treatment for a range of common conditions affecting the urinary tract. These can involve the:
- kidneys
- ureter
- bladder
- prostate
- urethra
- male reproductive system
To reduce the number of days you need to stay in hospital, we admit patients to the ward on the same day as the planned procedure. If you are having a more straight-forward procedure you may be able to go home the same day.

Ward 1 is based at Freeman Hospital. To find us:
- Come through the Main Entrance and follow the main corridor, passing the shop and hairdressers until you reach the end.
- Turn left and take the lift or stairs to level 3 and follow the sign for Ward 1.
Staff you are likely to meet
The clinical team on Ward 1 includes specialist urologists and nursing staff, who are supported by a team of experienced healthcare professionals and other support staff.
Things you need to know
- Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with the control of infection.
