  • Biography

    Professor Ng qualified from Cambridge University and completed his Rheumatology training in London.  He obtained his PhD in Immunology at the Imperial College, London and came to Newcastle in 2006 as an Arthritis Research Campaign (arc) clinical Senior Lecturer in Rheumatology. 

    Professor Ng’s research interests include cellular and molecular mechanisms of immunological tolerance and osteoimmunology.  His research is highly relevant to rheumatology as the breakdown of immunological tolerance is thought to play a major role in many rheumatic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and many other inflammatory arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and vasculitis.
