  • Biography

    Medical Degree, Dundee University and Ninewells Hospital – qualified 1983 followed by GP training in Cumbria. 

    I had intended to be a GP but did a hospital post in Paediatrics at the Cumberland Infirmary following my GP training and loved this so much that I went down a different route and obtained a post in Community Paediatrics in Newcastle, in which I have continued to work since 1988. 

    I have since obtained an MSc Community Paediatrics from the University of Newcastle, and completed the Sheffield Distance Learning Course in Neurodisability (now a Diploma Course).

    I am a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the British Association of Childhood Disability.

    I have been actively involved in delivering multidisciplinary assessments for children with ASD and in ADHD research.
