  • Biography

    I graduated from Birmingham Medical School in 1996 and undertook paediatric training in the West Midlands before specialising paediatric nephrology. Between 2003 and 2008 I completed a PhD in a disease called atypical HUS (a rare kidney disorder).

    I started my consultant post in Newcastle in 2010. I am paediatric lead for a national service for atypical HUS run from Newcastle. I am a member of the British Association of Paediatric Nephrology and sit on its clinical studies group. I am chief investigator for the National Study of MPGN (another rare kidney disorder) and chair of the MPGN Rare Disease Group. I am principle investigator for a number of multicentre clinical research studies.
