  • Biography

I trained as an Interventional Radiologist in the Northwest, completing a Fellowship in the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in 2009. I worked as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at University Hospital Aintree in Liverpool for three years before taking up my current post at the Freeman Hospital in 2012.

I am an Interventional Radiologist with a specialist interest in Interventional Oncology. This is a rapidly evolving field, treating cancers in the liver and pancreas using minimally invasive techniques including internal radiotherapy (SIRT), focused liver chemotherapy (TACE), microwave and electrical tumour ablation (IRE). Many of these techniques are only available in a small number of centres across the UK.

I am Clinical and Educational Supervisor for the Royal College of Radiologists, Treasurer of the Vascular Access Society of Britain and Ireland (VASBI) and a Subcommittee Member of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR). I am actively involved in research, recruiting to national and international studies.
