My clinical practice focusses on diagnostic imaging of the brain & spine, and spinal intervention. This complements my ongoing research interest focusing on neuroimaging in mitochondrial disease.

  • Biography

I graduated with distinction from the National University of Ireland, Cork in 1998. I completed my postgraduate medical training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, including a fellowship from the Stroke Association under the supervision of emeritus Professor of Neurology CP Warlow. This led to the award of an MD in the epidemiology and imaging features of intracranial cavernous malformations from the University of Edinburgh.

In 2004 I moved to Newcastle to pursue a career in neuroradiology. After obtaining my fellowship in clinical radiology in 2010, I completed subspeciality training as a fellow in neuroradiology at the RVI where I was appointed consultant in 2015.
