Childrens Services

Children and Young People Clinic

The Children and Young People’s Clinic cares for children and young people with a range of genital conditions. We also see children and young people with concerns about sexual abuse.

Children and young people can be referred to our care by their GP or a doctor from another hospital, or by the Police or Children’s Services.

Specialist care and support when you need it

Our experienced team is led by Consultant Paediatricians with specialist training in managing genital conditions, child protection and forensic practice. They are supported by Forensic Children’s Nurses, who also deliver sexual health clinics.

Family-focused approach

Our clinic is based at the Great North Children's Hospital at the RVI. It offers a comfortable and friendly, family-focused environment. We aim to provide the best quality health care for all children and young people, and to put them at the centre of everything we do.

Our Specialist Nurses are happy for families who have been referred here to contact them for more information about the assessment prior to their appointment.
