Diabetes Centre

Diabetes Centre Specialist Clinics

As well as our general diabetes out-patient clinics we have a variety of specialist clinics available. To be seen at any of the clinics, you need to be referred from your GP.

Community Assessment Clinic

This clinic provides a one-stop consultation for patients with established Type 2 Diabetes who are not achieving targets for clinical management. Advice is provided by a consultant, diabetes specialist nurse and dietician and an agreed care plan is produced for the GP and patient.

Well Women's Clinic

Pre-conception advice from Consultant Diabetologist, Obstetrician, dietician and diabetes nurse specialist. For patients with Type 1 and 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes.

Young adults clinic

For patients aged under 21 years of age.

Monogenic Clinic

This clinic works with patients who have “monogenic diabetes”. There are different types of monogenic diabetes, but it occurs when there is a mutation in a gene of the patient.

Insulin pump clinic

This clinic is for new and established patients on CSII (continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion) pump treatment, and includes the facility for computer downloads of pump information.

Medical foot clinic

Patients with new and established foot ulceration related to diabetes.
